Large photos slow down websites, fill up phone storage, and bounce back from email providers with strict attachment caps. This tool stages any supported image so you can review a sensible default, choose a specific quality or target size in Adjust, and press Apply only when you are ready. JPG and WebP photos are re-encoded at a lower, still-sharp quality, while PNG files get their own palette-based recompression — fewer colors, then a lossless repack — and transparency stays intact either way. The Export menu beside Download can keep that result as-is or save it as JPG, PNG, or WebP.

How it works

1. Add your photos

Load a single photo or a whole folder's worth by tapping to browse your phone or computer, dragging them onto the box above, or pasting one in from your clipboard. Supported formats can share the same batch, so you do not need to sort them first. The tool stages every file directly in browser memory and shows its original size without compressing it yet. Nothing is uploaded, and processing begins only after you review the settings and press Apply.

2. Review the quality, then apply

A default quality setting is ready to keep visible detail while meaningfully cutting file size. PNG files use that same quality slider to control palette reduction rather than a lossy re-encode, so transparency stays intact. If an image needs a smaller result or more quality, set a percentage or target size in kilobytes before pressing Apply. The encoder then runs on your device, so a slow internet connection has no effect on the work.

3. Save the results

Compare the new file size against the original next to each thumbnail, then download the compressed images. A single photo downloads directly; a batch of several downloads together as one ZIP file so you're not saving dozens of files one at a time. If any result looks softer than you'd like, reopen Adjust, raise the quality, and reprocess that image without redoing the rest of the batch. The originals on your device are left untouched throughout, so you always keep a full-quality copy alongside the smaller version you just created.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my images get?
Typical phone photos shrink to a third or less of their original size at the default quality with little visible difference. PNGs shrink through the same default setting: a color-palette reduction plus dithering rather than a lossy re-encode, so the file gets smaller without ever leaving the PNG format; choose WebP from the Export menu beside Download if you want to trade a little more size for it.
Do I need to pick a target file size?
No — the default setting works without any input. Open the Adjust panel only if you want a specific size in kilobytes or a particular quality percentage instead.
Is there a file size or file count limit?
No hard limit is enforced by the tool itself; practical limits come from your device's own memory when handling very large batches. Most photo collections process without any issue.
Does compression happen on a server?
No. Every image is decoded, compressed, and re-encoded using your browser's own capabilities, so nothing is ever sent anywhere for processing.
