How it works

This tool starts at the untouched 0 degree view, then lets you preview 90, 180, or 270 degree rotations with one click. Each choice updates immediately in your browser without an extra Apply step.

How it works

1. Bring in the sideways photo

Load your JPG, PNG, or WebP file into the tool by dragging it into the box above, pasting it directly from your clipboard, or tapping to browse your phone's gallery or your computer's files. This works well for phone photos taken with the camera held sideways, scanned pages fed into a scanner the wrong way round, and any image that displays correctly in one app but appears rotated in another once you open it elsewhere. The photo loads and displays exactly as saved, entirely on your device, and there is no upload queue standing between dropping the file and seeing it appear on screen.

2. Choose the angle

The tool starts at 0 degrees so the staged image matches your original. Choose the 90, 180, or 270 degree button and the preview updates immediately; choose 0 degrees again whenever you want to return to the original orientation. No separate Apply click is required.

3. Download the corrected image

Once the photo displays the right way up, hit Download to save the corrected version to your device. The rotation is baked directly into the image's pixel data rather than stored as a separate orientation tag, so the result displays correctly everywhere, including older software, printers, and any app that ignores embedded orientation metadata. The original file on your device is left untouched, so you keep both the source and the corrected copy, useful if you ever need to start over from the unrotated version for some other reason later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I rotate by an angle other than 90 degrees?
Yes. The rotation buttons offer 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees. For a small tilt correction rather than a fixed quarter-turn, a dedicated straightening tool is a better fit.
Why does my photo look sideways in one app but not another?
Some cameras save a rotated photo with an orientation tag rather than rotating the actual pixels, and not every app reads that tag. This tool fixes the pixels directly, so the result is consistent everywhere.
How do I rotate a photo a full 180 degrees?
Add the photo and choose the 180 degree button. The preview updates immediately; you do not need to rotate it 90 degrees first or press Apply.
Is my image uploaded anywhere during rotation?
No. Whatever angle you end up with, including anything picked in the Adjust panel, is computed locally by your browser, and no pixel data is ever sent to a server before you choose to save the result yourself.
