How it works

  1. 1Choose the requirement. Start with a named preset or enter the exact dimensions, format, and KB range from your form.
  2. 2Position the portrait. The crop box adopts the required shape; move and resize it until the face is framed correctly.
  3. 3Apply and verify. The tool crops, resizes, converts, and compresses locally, then checks the measurable requirements.

About this tool & FAQ

Exam & ID Photo Maker

Frame your portrait once, then crop, resize, convert and compress it to the requirements of your application form — entirely on your device.

Government portals, entrance exams and identity applications often reject an otherwise good portrait because its pixel dimensions, format or file size do not match the current instructions. This tool combines those measurable steps into one guided workflow: select a named preset or enter the values from your form, position the locked crop box, and create the final file locally. Named exam requirements can change between application cycles, so always compare the shown preset with the current official notice before submitting.

How it works

1. Choose the requirement and add your portrait

Start with the India passport-print template, the NTA application-photo range, a common form size, a square ID template, or Custom requirements. For a real submission, compare the values with the current notice and edit the width, height, minimum or maximum KB, and required file format whenever they differ. Then add a clear, front-facing portrait; it stays inside this browser tab.

2. Position the requirement-shaped crop box

The crop box immediately adopts the aspect ratio created by the selected width and height. Move and resize it to center the face and leave the amount of headroom requested by the authority. The tool can guarantee the crop shape, but it does not automatically certify lighting, expression, shadows, glasses, clothing or background colour.

3. Create, check and download

Choose Create application photo to crop the selected area, resize it to the exact pixels, convert it to the chosen format and compress it toward the maximum KB in one local operation. The result panel checks dimensions, format and the requested file-size range using the actual output. Review the visual requirements yourself, then download or reset to the untouched original and try again.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool crop, resize and compress the photo together?
Yes. The crop box controls framing, while one Apply operation creates the exact pixel dimensions, required file format and requested maximum file size in the background.
Does passing the requirements check guarantee that an application will accept my photo?
No. The checks cover only measurable file properties. You must still review the authority's current rules for background, pose, expression, head position, recency and any other visual requirement.
What if my exam has different dimensions or a different KB range?
Choose Custom requirements and copy the width, height, accepted format and file-size range from the current application notice. Editing any named preset automatically switches the tool into Custom mode.
What happens if the maximum file size cannot be reached?
The tool returns its best result and clearly marks the file-size check as unmet instead of pretending the file is valid. Smaller output dimensions may be necessary for an unusually strict limit.
Is my identity photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping, resizing, format conversion, compression and validation all happen locally in your browser, and the image is not sent to this site's server.
